Hull Archery Club has a history that is unusual for a community sports club. It began in 1985 as a dedicated club for disabled archers and has evolved while keeping inclusion at the centre of its identity.
Founded in 1985
The club was created to give disabled archers a dedicated place to take part in the sport. Over the years it operated from different venues in Hull, including Eastmount School on the Longhill estate.
A new chapter in 2011
With membership low, the club was rebranded as Hull Archery Club and opened to adults of all abilities. The wider approach worked quickly and the club expanded, moving to larger facilities at Walton Street Leisure Centre.
Partnership in 2024
In 2024 Hull Archery Club partnered with Cottingham Archers, strengthening links in East Yorkshire and supporting the move to outdoor shooting at Cottingham Parks Golf & Leisure Club.

Today
Hull Archery Club shoots outdoors at Cottingham Parks Golf & Leisure Club, Woodhill Way, Cottingham, East Yorkshire, HU16 5SW. Friday sessions begin at 18:30 and Sunday sessions at 10:00, subject to weather and daylight.
